Since crafting its inaugural vintage in 2001, founder and winemaker Greg Sanders and his winemaking team have continually challenged convention, refining and defining proprietary technique that distinguishes White Rose Estate from its peers and defines its signature style.
From the beginning, Sanders sought to move beyond traditional interpretation of Pinot Noir. The results speak for themselves: over the past two decades, White Rose Estate wines have earned twenty 95-point scores, ten 96-point scores and four 97 point-scores. Most notably the 2018 Confluence of Nature² achieved an extraordinary 99-point distinction – the highest accolade in the estate’s history, the highest Pinot Noir score from, Clive Pursehouse of the Decanter Magazine.
Never content with standing still, Sanders continued to innovate. His creative evolution led to the development of what the team calls the Segmented Press Fraction technique an exciting new innovative method used in concert with whole-cluster fermentation.
During fermentation, the wine is extracted at three distinct times determined all by taste:
Step 1: The Initial Extraction – delivering floral perfumes and refined elegance. 10%-11%.
Step 2: The Secondary Extraction – expressing balance, structure, and varietal purity. 11.5%-12.5%
Step 3: The Press Extraction – contributing depth, power, and textural weight. 13.5% – 14.2%
Each fraction reveals a unique personality and version of quality. Rather than blending immediately, the components are aged separately. After months of observation and evaluation the winemaking team intentionally reunites precise percentages of each fraction to create a wine that embodies each emotional objective.
April 1st, 2026 White Rose Estate will release its “25th Anniversary” Wine to honor this milestone. This Pinot Noir has been crafted to encapsulate the evolution of both the winery and its ethos.
Intimate tasting celebrations will be schedule throughout the year, with our first celebration occurring on Saturday, May 30th by invitation.
