96 Points International Wine Report: The 2022 WHITE ROSE Pinot Noir ‘Collectors Edition #1’ pours a bright medium ruby-magenta core with a light pink rim. Aged for 15 months in 13% new French oak and fermented with 100% whole cluster, this Pinot Noir offers stunning notes of candied Bing cherries, marionberries, and cedary herbs, accented by hints of violet flowers. The palate reveals ripe sweet tannins, moderate acidity, and a plush, lingering finish. This is an elegantly crafted wine that balances richness and finesse beautifully and should cellar well for the next 10-15 years. Better in 2025. Highly recommended.
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: Displaying a bright magenta color in the glass, the 2022 Pinot Noir Collectors Edition #1 is also 100% whole cluster and spent 15 months in barrel (13% new French oak). The nose is fruity and approachable, with notes of mixed berries, candied flowers, sweet tea leaf, and fresh forest floor. The palate remains medium-bodied but broader shouldered, with expanding ripe tannins and a bit of real grip. (All of these wines have a good deal of tannin structure.) That said, in this wine the acidity is fresh but not quite as sporty. It feels riper throughout but has lovely balance. It’s quite appealing now, and it’s going to improve with another year or more in bottle. Drink 2026-2040.
93 Points Vinous: Is remarkably pretty, blending wild strawberries with lavendar, chalk dust and hints of wet stone. This is juciy and lifted yet refined with cooling acidity and ripe wild berry fruits enlivened by a core of zesty acidity. It leaves a tinge of sweet spice and rosy inner florals along with a saturation of black licorice, maintaining marvelous freshness while tapering off with edgy tannins.

96 Points International Wine Report: The 2022 White Rose Pinot Noir ‘Confluence of Nature’ pours a glorious medium ruby red core with a light neon pink rim. It opens with an explosion of vibrant red fruits, including raspberries and Bing cherries, before evolving into more complex layers of dried lavender flowers, forest floor, pink peppercorn, and subtle hints of Earl Grey tea. Medium to full-bodied, this Pinot Noir showcases ripe, sweet tannins and moderate-plus acidity. The structure is incredibly balanced and polished, leading to a finish that seems to go on forever. Highly recommended
95 Points Jeb Dunnuck: The 2022 Pinot Noir Confluence of Nature² is a youthful red color and has more layered and deeper aromas that come to the fore, with notes of violets, black raspberries, sweet mossy earth, and tea leaf. Approachable and refined, the palate is rounded, though again, it’s medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and seamless acidity. A beautifully detailed wine all around, it’s very well done and is a beauty to drink now, but it will have a good deal of longevity and has the ability to improve over the coming 15 or so years.
94 Points Vinous: Darkly Floral, burst from the glass with a bouquet of dusty rose, sage, blackberries and shaving of cedar. This is pure elegance on the palate, silken, and supple with depths of ripe wild berry fruit complicated by savory herbal tones, cocoa and a hint of pepper toward the close. It finishes staining, structured and long, maintaining fantastic balance as notes of blood orange and a pleasantly bitter tinge resonate.
93 Points James Suckling: A fruity, juicy and fun red with red currants, wild strawberries and white pepper on th nose following through to a medium body and bright acidity. Succulent and crunchy, with so much white pepper character bringing brightness and verve. Lively finish with tensions
99 Points Decanter: John Keats said that a thing of beauty was a joy forever, and he could have been speaking of this wine from White Rose Estate. Smoky rose petals, lavender, candied blueberries, violets and forest floor continue to unravel in the glass. Five years on, this wine has sluffed off any extraneous ripeness for pure elegance and earth-driven nuance. A ripe vintage played to perfection by a winemaking team in transition aged four years in barrel, the palate shows beautiful wild mountain berries, wintergreen and sweet raspberry with just a touch of clove—plenty of earthen minerality, gorgeous depth and beauty in this wonderful wine.
97 Points International Wine Report: Whole-cluster fermented and aged in barrel for four years before bottling, the 2018 Confluence of Nature Pinot Noir from White Rose is an absolutely phenomenal bottle of wine. A touch fresher on the nose than the other White Rose 2018s, and in a lot of ways, it’s a dead ringer to a beautiful Premier or Grand Cru Burgundy. It displays a bright medium brickish core with a silvery rim and boasts aromas and flavors of fresh lavender, blue plum, wild blueberry, rich baking spice, cracked white peppercorn, and tilled wet earth. Tannins are integrated and silky smooth with perfect levels of acidity and a blue-fruit-driven finish that goes on for minutes. Enjoy this one over the next decade or more with proper cellaring.
95 Points Vinous: Captivates with its beguilding bouquet of exoctic spices, incense and rosy florals accentuating wild strawberries. Silken texture and fleshy wild berry fruits wash across the palate, all engergized by zesty acidity as an air of violette pastille forms toward the close. Blue and purple toned inner florals resonate throughout as the 2018 tapes off lightly structured with incredible length and a smoky ting. This wine is like human catnip, yet with the balance for a long and steady evolution. It’s refined for forty months in 33% new French Oak.

94 Points International Wine Report: If the 2022 Convivial Feast is any indication of the 2022 vintage in Oregon, we are in for a treat. Sporting a glimmering light ruby core with a neon pink rim, it gifts a nose of red wildflowers, freshly sliced strawberries, pomegranate, forest herbs, clove, and cracked white peppercorn. The whole cluster helps with structure and added tannins. Well balanced between the acid, fruit, spice, and earth, wait for a year or two before breaking this open for best results.

Silky and elegant from start to finish, this displays sapid red fruits under an air of violet inner florals. Sweet red cherry flesh, pomegranate and Montmorency cherries. Classically earthen minerality, balsamic, smoke and clove lead into a lifted finish kissed by fresh mint.

Elegant and well-structured, it has finely coiled tannins, mouthwatering acidity, and a great finish, retaiing wonderful balance and energy all the way through without ever feeling austere. This is a lovely entry to the 2022s from White Rose Estate. Drink 2025-2037.
95 Points Karen MacNeil: One of the most spicy Pinots of our blind tastings, White Rose zoomed out of the glass with flavors reminiscent of cumin, coriander, and Chinese 5-spice, all deliciously woven together with notes of roses, peaches, and plums. This wine is beautifully lifted and elegant. One of the vineyards that goes into this wine was planted 43 years ago and grows on its own roots.

The tannins are ripe and flavorful, adding light touches of hazelnuts, clean earth and mocha.

94 Points Decanter: From the Rocks District in Walla Walla Valley comes an elegant and savoury Syrah that shows purple florality and smoky, meaty umami character; notes of blood orange and grilled lemon peel lift the aromatics. The palate is fresh blueberry fruits with clove, black olives in brine, muddled strawberries and black tea leaves—the elegance of Rocks Syrah in the hands of a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir maker.
94 Points Vinous: The 2022 Syrah The Convivial Feast, from the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, opens in the glass with earthy sage, wilted violets and wet stones embellishing steeped plums and currants. Its silky textures sweep across the palate, energized by vibrant acidity as colling mineral tones add grippy depths to its ripe blackberry fruit. It finishes savory, with a pleasant bitter twang leaving grippy tannins to grumble, offset by a sour citrus tinge, Brillant and refined, I love it.
93 Points International Wine Report: I love how so many Willamette Valley wineries are starting to buy grapes from The Rocks District and dipping their hands into making Syrah. In my opinion, this area produces the best Syrah grapes in the New World. This is the first 2022 Syrah I have tasted out of bottle, and despite being incredibly young, it shows loads of promise. A medium neon ruby core with a fluorescent pink rim in the glass, this is a lighter style Syrah that boasts notes of blueberries, wet earth, pink peppercorn, white grapefruit pith, and olive brine. It finishes long and earthy. Better in 2024.
